Laughter, teamwork and school spirit were on full display as Hillside Grade School students recently came together for their annual Buddy Day, a special tradition that fosters connections across grade levels through engaging outdoor activities.
Students were paired with their buddies from another grade level and participated in a variety of collaborative games and challenges, including three-legged races, potato sack races, freeze dance, hula hoop transfer and egg-balancing relays. The activities encouraged cooperation and communication and while providing students with an opportunity to enjoy time outdoors.
Each year, Hillside Grade School partners older students with younger peers to help build relationships across the school community. Through Buddy Day and similar activities, students strengthen leadership skills, develop new friendships and contribute to a welcoming and inclusive school environment.
