breakfast and lunch

Exciting News! A New School Lunch Program is Coming This September

We are excited to announce that, at its July Board of Education meeting, the New Hyde Park-Garden City Park Board of Education approved a new partnership with Ordo to provide school breakfast and lunch service beginning in September 2026.

Over the past year, many families shared their thoughts about our school meal program and asked the District to explore a new lunch provider. We listened.

After carefully evaluating our options, we are pleased to introduce Ordo, a modern K–12 food service provider committed to serving fresh, wholesome, chef-prepared meals made with quality ingredients. Ordo partners with schools across the country to provide nutritious breakfasts and lunches, rotating seasonal menus, and a convenient online ordering system for families.

Most importantly, breakfast and lunch will continue to be provided FREE to all students through our District's participation in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) and Provision 2. Families will continue to enjoy healthy meal options for every student at no cost for as long as these state meal provisions remain available to the District.

We are confident this new partnership will provide our students with an enhanced dining experience by offering fresher, chef-prepared meals while maintaining the high nutritional standards our families expect.

More information, including menus, ordering details, and other program information, will be shared with families before the start of the school year.

Thank you to everyone who shared feedback throughout this process. Your voices matter, and we appreciate your partnership as we continue to enhance the educational experience for every student.
