The district is pleased to welcome Meghann Tedesco as the new principal of Hillside Grade School, effective July 1.
Ms. Tedesco brings a wealth of leadership experience to her new role. For the past three years, she has served the school community as assistant principal at Hillside and Garden City Park School, where she worked closely with teachers to support instructional best practices through ongoing collaboration and professional learning. She also maintained strong partnerships with families to promote student success, collaborated with the PTA to plan and facilitate school assemblies and events, and partnered with staff to lead various school-level committees to enrich the learning experiences of NHP-GCP students. In 2025, Ms. Tedesco served as acting principal at Manor Oaks School for four months, providing steady leadership and ensuring continuity. Prior to joining the district, she served as an assistant principal at 277Q in Long Island City, where she further developed her expertise in instructional leadership and school administration.
Ms. Tedesco received a Bachelor of Science in Special Education (Deaf Education and Comprehensive Disorders) from Vanderbilt University, a Master of Arts in Deaf Education from Columbia University and completed the CITE Educational Leadership Certification Program at the College of Saint Rose.
"I’m so happy to see her step into this role,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jennifer Morrison-Raptis said. “Her dedication and leadership make her the perfect fit."
