Assistant Principal Appointed

The district is pleased to welcome Kelly Setiadi into her new role as assistant principal at Garden City Park School and Hillside Grade School, effective July 1.

Ms. Setiadi has dedicated more than 20 years to serving the NHP-GCP community as an educator, teaching students in kindergarten, first grade and third grade classrooms at New Hyde Park Road School. Her selection as a Nassau County Woman of Distinction in 2022 reflects her unwavering commitment to educational excellence and student growth. Throughout her career in the district, Ms. Setiadi has consistently demonstrated leadership and innovation. She has enhanced student engagement and monitored real-time academic progress through the effective integration of technology; developed districtwide common assessments in mathematics, science, and social studies; and worked with colleagues to develop lessons to support the kindergarten and first grade reading and writing curriculum. In addition, she has served as an active member of numerous district committees, contributing to initiatives that have strengthened teaching and learning across the district. Ms. Setiadi has also thoughtfully prepared for her transition into school leadership. As an administrative intern, she supported the implementation of a districtwide after-school play program, streamlined field trip procedures, and worked closely with the building principal and assistant principal to develop the master schedule and building safety plans.

"I have absolutely loved teaching the children at Road School for the past 21 years,” Ms. Setiadi said. “Getting to know each of them and their families has been a true privilege. Although I will deeply miss the Road School community, I am incredibly excited to step into the role of assistant principal and continue supporting our students and families in the NHP-GCP district in this new capacity.”
