The district proudly welcomed a group of young scientists and student leaders to the board of education meeting on April 20.
Twenty sixth grade students were invited to showcase their science fair projects, presenting their work to board members and administrators. Across the district, every sixth grader participated in the science fair, either independently or in pairs, exploring topics that sparked their curiosity and reflected their personal interests. Thirteen projects were featured at the meeting, including “How to Build a Circuit to Automatically Water Your Plants,” “Cross Assist,” “The Science of Waterbending,” and “Small Frame Big Lift.”
Following the science fair recognition, Manor Oaks School Principal Colleen Topping shared key programs and initiatives taking place within the building. The evening continued with a lively activity led by Student Council representatives, who hosted a “Life at Manor Oaks” Family Feud-style game for board members and administrators. Participants answered questions such as “What place in the school do students love to go?” and “What is the favorite special?” Additionally, Student Council President Vincent Yurukov served as the student representative to the board of education.
