Sixteen Hillside Grade School fifth graders are now published authors, with their writing selected for inclusion in the Young Writers anthology “Spook Squad.”
All interested fifth graders in Danielle Scalogna and Jennifer Micalizzi’s classes were invited to participate in the creative writing contest. Students were challenged to craft a mini saga, an engaging story of up to 100 words, that could be funny, creepy, scary or mysterious.
