Student-Musicians Selected for All-County

Twenty-four New Hyde Park-Garden City Park Union Free School District student-musicians received the tremendous honor of being selected to perform in the All-County music festival this year. The festival, which is hosted by the Nassau Music Educators Association, held concerts at the Tilles Center in January.

Band, chorus and orchestra students were chosen based on their NYSSMA scores from the previous school year, as well as teacher recommendation. All-County selection allows the students to play with some of the finest musicians at their age level in Nassau County. Additionally, the district extends congratulations to music teacher Joanna Malaszczyk, who served as the lead chairperson of the Division 1 West Chorus, and music teacher Calob Congdon, who served as the assistant chairperson for the Division 1 West Chorus.
