As a culminating activity to Autism Acceptance Month, Hillside Grade School hosted its inaugural Autism Awareness Walk on May 2.
Dressed in school colors or Buddy Day shirts, students from grades K-6 joined together to walk around the perimeter of the school field. The walk concluded with students and staff creating the symbol of an infinity sign to represent solidarity.
Prior to the walk, students viewed a brief presentation on the importance of kindness and being accepting of others’ differences.
The event was organized by the school’s Building Leadership Team.
