Universal Pre-Kindergarten Program
Pending the approval of the NYS Budget, New Hyde Park-Garden City Park Union Free School District will provide a half-day Universal Pre-Kindergarten at Manor Oaks School for the 2019-2020 school year in cooperation with SCOPE Education Services. As the program is entirely funded through a grant from NYS, there are no additional costs to local taxpayers.
Universal Pre-Kindergarten Program and Application Details
Location: Manor Oaks School
Staff: A NYS certified teacher and assistant
Days: Monday through Friday
(The program will follow the NHP-GCP 2019-2020 school calendar.)
Hours: Two 2.5 hour Morning Sessions, 8:30-11:00 a.m.
Two 2.5 hour Afternoon Sessions, 12:00-2:30 p.m.
Time preference will be considered, is not guaranteed, and based upon lottery results. (Parents must provide transportation)
Eligibility: Applicants must be a resident of NHP-GCP (our residency officer will check) not eligible for Kindergarten until September 2020, and 4 years of age (born on or before December 1, 2015).
There are 72 openings. Students will be selected at a public lottery to be held on Friday, February 8, at 9:00 a.m. in the Board Room at Manor Oaks School. Successful applicants will then be contacted to complete the registration process.
