Emergency Closing Information

    When adverse weather conditions arise, the Superintendent may determine to close schools or have a delayed school opening for the safety of the children and staff. Parents are urged to have a plan in place for the care of children in the event of an emergency closing. In such cases the following radio/television stations are notified, and the information will be posted on the District Website:

    In the event of an emergency during the school day, the Connect-Ed emergency notification system and radio announcements will be used. However, no children will be dismissed before the regular time unless parents or designated contact persons are notified. The closing announcement will be for the New Hyde Park-Garden City Park School District.
