In Spring 2013, New York State administered the first ELA/Literacy and Mathematics Common Core tests intended to provide students, families, educators, and the public better measures of student proficiency in the knowledge and skills students need to succeed in college and careers. On this page you will find links to guidance for unpacking the information on the Parent Report. On the Parent Report, student scale scores, performance levels, and subscores are reported. Within these documents, you will be given a tour and explanation of all terminology and data on the reports. This guidance will be helpful in interpreting the report.

Smart Schools Bond Act
The Smart Schools Bond Act was passed in the 2014-15 NYS Enacted Budget and approved by the voters in a statewide referendum held during the 2014 General Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2014. The Smart Schools Bond Act (SSBA) authorized the issuance of $2 billion of general obligation bonds to finance improved educational technology and infrastructure to improve learning and opportunity for students throughout the State. The SSBA requires that a Review Board review and approve districts’ Smart Schools Investment Plans before any funds may be made available for the program.(http://www.p12.nysed.gov/mgtserv/smart_schools/home.html)
The New Hyde Park- Garden City Park UFSD allocation for the SSBA is $459, 525.
